Passionate about wildlife and about Africa since he was a small boy, Serengeti Balloon Safaris co-founder Tony Pascoe originally came from his home in England to Kenya, where he worked as a camp manager in the 1970's. This led to him arranging and guiding safari groups, under the name of Tony Pascoe Safaris all over eastern and southern Africa for more than a decade in 1980s and 1990s. Here's a photo that shows Tony on safari in Savuti, Botswana, with world renowned conservationist and wildlife artist David Shepherd. That safari, escorted by Tony and David, raised substantial funds for The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation
Serengeti Balloon Safaris continues this legacy, contributing substantially to Tanzania National Parks by way of concession fees for conservation (paying USD 6.7m just since 2007) and by supporting the Frankfurt Zoological Society De- Snaring Project in Serengeti along with annual support to local schools, as well as the annual carbon offsetting through annual donations to Carbon Tanzania.
