In 2018, we installed a completely new power system at our base in Seronera. Gone is the row of smelly, harmful generators, replaced with 150 solar panels and these 7 little batteries. Plus a lot of waiting and some clever boxes. This means that we can save over 30,000 litres of diesel per year and all of the associated carbon and other particles that were being produced. Those batteries can keep us going through the night with only the occasional top up from one modern generator, when loads require.
